The Short Story of R.J. Wilson
After working with other firms, Ronald Wilson, along with several associates, broke away to launch his own business in 1993. In 2002, his son, Ryan joined the business part-time while still in college. Ryan graduated from Kent State University with a degree in accounting, and went to earn a master’s in taxation from The University of Akron. Ryan joined the firm full time and, today, has taken over the leadership of the business. He and the R.J. Wilson staff continue to live up to his father’s high standards for reliable, accurate accounting, tax, and other business services.
Small businesses continue to make up the majority of our company’s clients. Current clients come from a variety of business sectors including retail, manufacturing, medical/dental and others. While we serve clients from many industries and sectors, from an accounting perspective we believe the size of the organization is more important than what the organization does.
Each business sector certainly has unique accounting requirements, but all small businesses share common concerns and requirements. Our focus on clients that range from individual entrepreneurs to organizations up to 25 employees ensures our expertise in supporting and guiding these clients.
Business accounting and tax preparation are incredibly complex activities. If you have any doubt of that fact, spend a few minutes reading through the tax code or scanning the list of forms your business may be required to complete.
That complexity creates many grey areas where it’s unclear what your business can and cannot do from an accounting standpoint. Those grey areas represent opportunities to optimize your tax burden and financial performance. We approach these opportunities with a keen eye for opportunities to create tax advantages for our clients.
This isn’t creative accounting; there is no room for that at R.J. Wilson. We adhere strictly to all applicable laws and regulations and deliver our services with the absolute integrity. Still, that leaves plenty of room to identify opportunities to reasonably apply the tax code in ways that are beneficial to your company. We will find every legitimate opportunity to reduce your tax burden while ensuring you pay every dollar you owe.
Clients rely on us for a broad range of business accounting services, including:
- Certified Public Accounting
- Tax Services
- Bookkeeping Services
- Payroll Services
- Consulting Services
- Financial Statements
- Auditing & Attest Services
- Quickbooks Training
